yourKITE project reached almost 600 young people from Europe, mainly Norway, Poland and Romania, through the educational tools and resources developed on media and communication, entrepreneurship, volunteering and career counseling. From this group, more than 125 were Romanian young people.
Through the yourKITE project, implemented during 2015-2017, organizations from Norway, Poland, and Romania developed several educational tools that can be used by young trainers, youth workers or youth organizations in delivering workshops on topics, such as entrepreneurship, media & communication, volunteering and career counseling for young people. These tools include a toolkit, an online learning platform with valuable educational resources, and online courses for young people / youth workers in the areas mentioned.
The project experts, through a transnational workshop, prepared 18 young trainers and volunteers to use the yourKITE Toolkit and organize workshops for young people. The young trainers returned in their communities from Norway, Poland and Romania and organized workshops for other 466 young people, between 14-17 years old, enhancing their entrepreneurship, media (including digital media) and communication skills, and enriching their understanding on volunteering and career opportunities.
yourKITE experts also provided online training courses to 113 young people interested in developing their skills and knowledge on the topics mentioned above, but also in improving their knowledge and skills in organizing workshops and working with young people in general.
yourKITE Project (The initiative to enhance Young people Knowledge and skills on IT and Entrepreneurship and increase their Employability) aimed to develop communication and digital media skills and entrepreneurship knowledge and competences of young people, while promoting volunteering and professional orientation among youth, in order to increase their employability.
All the educational resources developed within yourKITE project are now available on the project’s platform (www.yourkite.org), so that they can be accessed by any organization or individual interested in developing youth programs or projects.
Through the yourKITE online training and the learning platform, youth workers or young trainers can develop or enhance their knowledge and skills on training methodology for youth and adult learners; and then, they can specifically learn about how to conduct training sessions on visual communication, entrepreneurship, volunteering and career guidance for young people. Also, they can access the yourKITE toolkit – a handbook for trainers with relevant theory, training scenarios and other essential resources on the same topics. The youth organizations or other NGOs can use these educational resources to train their own staff or volunteers who work with young people. Moreover, the youth organizations and NGOs can also used the insight report of the project, which can help them, with valuable advices and lessons learned, in organizing similar projects or activities for youth.
